Monitoring environmental pollution in the vicinity of a major urban construction site

To meet the challenges of local acceptance of a metro line construction site, a transport authority entrusted Egis with the implementation of an environmental monitoring system. Egis configured and deployed its ‘cenosIA’ web platform, using state-of-the-art sensors to provide reliable data on noise and air quality around the 20km long construction site. Thanks to this platform, for the duration of the contract (2 years), the authority was able to be alerted in real time to threshold exceedances, and intervene more reactively.
Thanks to the environmental expertise provided by Egis, the project owner was able to better objectify the measurements taken by the construction companies, and to qualify and interpret the results. Finally, the platform was also used as a means of communicating with local residents, to illustrate the impact of government action on environmental risks.
