Study on the flow of information linked to the life cycle of an airport structure

One of the world’s largest airport operators has launched a strategic roadmap to transform the group, prepare for future challenges and seize the opportunities of digitalization.

As part of this program, the airport aims to achieve more integrated and transparent data management through the organization and systems deployed, and to develop synergies between airport sites and business lines.

In 2022, the airport commissioned Egis to carry out a study of the flow of data and processes linked to the asset lifecycle within its organization, as well as an analysis of potential improvements.

Customer benefits

  • Onboarding of airport employees through workshops and meetings between people within the same structure.
  • Clear identification of data flow breaks thanks to flow mapping.
  • The strategy to be implemented will come from the business lines, which is easier to defend internally.

Egis contributions

  • Interviews with data users across the organization to identify all the systems implemented, the processes that organize data management and any existing gaps.
  • Audit real-life work processes, through case-based group workshops.
  • Mapping of all systems, data flows and user groups.
  • Identify data flow breakpoints and inefficiencies.
  • Identify “quick wins” to be developed within the framework of “Proofs of concept” prior to large-scale implementation.
